Committee on Climate Change Chairperson Chatto, Edgar M., President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Commit the Philippines to Investing in Clean Renewable Energy
In order to lessen the impact of the nation's energy system, the government needs to further invest in renewable energy sources and concretely answer the public's call for renewable and other low-emission energy sources.
Sign this petition to urge Congress and President Marcos Jr. to come up with and put into concrete plans for the Philippines to move away from its reliance on fossil fuels and toward a society that is driven by sustainable, renewable energy.
Why is this important?
The repercussions of climate change are already being felt in the twenty-first century. Droughts, more intense and frequent storms, rising sea levels, and higher temperatures are all having a negative impact on the planet's natural food webs and ecosystems. It is more important than ever to persuade people to abandon fossil fuels, which emit greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, and instead invest in renewable energy.
